End of March
We got to spend some time with Grandma & Grandpa Prince, and Granda discovered that I like the feel of the breeze in my hair...so he created it!
Having fun on Dad's belly.
This week saw some unexpected chaos in Hallie & my schedule, so Uncle Jeddie saved the day by aggreeing to babysit for a few hours in the middle of the week. Unfortunately, Evvie was not so fond of the idea of being taken care by Uncle Jeddie. He sort of looks like daddy- BUT HE'S NOT! Jed was a great sport and learned a few tricks to keep her calm. Evvie learned that mom & dad always come back after they leave, so it was a good experience for everybody.

Open Up and Say...
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!
On reccomendation of her doctor, we've been trying to stretch out Evvie's waking times and lengthen her naps. She'd been napping 4+ times per day for just 45 minutes. It's tough work keeping a groggy, cranky girl awake, but it's paying off. Yesterday a 90 minute nap in the middle of the day, and only 3 naps all day long. Soon we'll get her to two and be quite happy.
Evvie's using her toungue a lot- sticking it out, curling it, licking things. She's also adorably squeaky and squealy.

Swingin' Away

Happy to see you
Evvie seems to like this new perspective on her hanging toys. Look at those cheeks! Do you believe that she's only in the 29% weight percentile!?!
We just got a swing from Jess & Joe this weekend and tried it out. Her first reaction was subdued, but by the third time she rode the swing, she was all squeals and shrieks. Evelyn has become very vocal at times- gurgling and cooing at mom & dad. Of course she smiles a bit, too- as this picture shows.

4 Month Checkup
Today was another checkup with the pediatrition. Evvie had a good nap on the drive over so she was bight eyed and happy most of the visit.
Here are her new stats:
Weight: 13 lbs.
Length: 24 1/4"
Head: 16 1/4"
Dr. Tracy said she is doing very well. We discussed strategies to lengthen her naptime and wean her off the pacifier. She said that it's best not to start solids until 6 months because her GI tract will be more mature then and she'll have less susceptibility to a food allergy. She had four shots, two in each thigh. That's about four more than I could stand.
