Weekend at Grammy and Grampa's

In hopes that perhaps a baby would be born this past weekend, Evelyn stayed with Grammy and Grampa Prince in Turner. She immediately strted hamming it up for them and whisked this doily-crocheted table runner-thing off their coffee table and wrapped it around her head saying "ooohhhh."

Yes, she knows how to be cute.

Yes, she wants you to say that to her.


Sunday, it was party time for the Petrin girls. As you can see, Evelyn likes the company of her Aunt Amy just a little bit.


At some point during all the action, Iris got her nose bumped. Concerned, Evelyn gave it a magic kiss to feel better. I think she takes after her mother in the "healing arts".


Good weekend. No baby to come home to, though!

Sibling Class

Today Evvie went to a sibling birthing class at MidCoast Hospital. She learned what it would be like when her new brother or sister arrives and she comes to visit with Grammie and Grampa. She was a little bit surprised at how little the newborn baby was, but thought the little belly button clamp was pretty funny. It's only a matter of a few short weeks now...

How to eat Asparagus

1. Sautee a good bunch in a cast iron pan in little water and butter.
2. Serve it alongside chicken and rice.
3. Share with a loved one.
4. Repeat step 3.

Weirdness

It's nice to come home and stretch my tight back on the floor.

It's also nice to be brought a blanket and told "night-night" by my daughter.

It's kind of disconcerting to wake up inside a ritualistic closed ring of blocks and balls.

What's going on here? and where's that chanting coming from?
