Fun in the Wintry Adirondacks

We arrived after driving all night just hours before the great parade! (ask Jay sometime about the cold roadside pit-stop when Evvie's not around). The parade was a hoot and we enjoyed watching the colorful characters stroll down the strip of downtown S.L.

Of course the ice castle was amazing, but, as it turns out, ice is slippery (who knew!). Evvie braved a pretty serious face plant on the lake, and wore the battle wound for a week.




The kids spent lots of great time together.

Packing for the trip

Daddy lugs some swag down the stairs for our trip to see the Smith cousins.

Is it wise or foolish to try to leave at 2am?

Will the kids go back to sleep in the car?

Will the coffee be strong enough to fight sleepy drivers?

Will the desire to accommodate tenuous sleeping routines pay off?

Time will tell.
