Latest Checkup

Evvie had her 18 month checkup yesterday. I spoke to Dr. Tracy today regarding her iron levels and her hematocrit numbers are exactly where Dr. Tracy wants them (35). She mentioned that it was a fairly dramatic rise (4 points), probably not solely based on the on the iron drops alone, and that her diet must be including more iron. Ironic- the phone call came 20 minute after Evvie gobbled up more spinach than I've ever seen her eat for lunch. We can officially shake the title of being "slighty anemic".

As far as the visit went, Evelyn was a bit timid and cranky, but the crucial shots were made and blood taken for the hematocrit.

If you're worried about her weight, Dr. Tracy isn't. "She's got plenty of subcutaneous fat," Dr. Tracy says. Plus, her percentile has double from 3% 3 months ago. It's nice to see her length in the mid-range I must say up from 35% just three months ago). She's really gone through a growth spurt and is long and lean like her mom. She also is swelling and has a pretty big head- like her dad.
